Report: Art treasures in Gurlitt's Austrian house
VIENNA - Experts have found 180 artworks - including a long-lost painting by Claude Monet - in the Salzburg house of the German art collector who hoarded art in his Munich apartment for decades, Austrian state television reported on Wednesday.
ORF says the works were discovered last month among the "household belongings" of Cornelius Gurlitt, in addition to 60 pieces of art discovered separately in the house.
The network reported Wednesday the trove includes a Monet painting estimated to be worth 10 million euros - nearly $14 million. Other works are by Edouard Manet, Auguste Rodin and Pablo Picasso. (AP)
