Marwan Barghouti's wife: Abbas asked US to free my husband
The wife Marwan Barghouti, a Fatah official jailed in Israel, said that during his visit to Washington, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asked the Americans to work towards freeing Barghouti and other senior prisoners.
In an interview with Al-Hayat newspaper, Fadwa Barghouti added that Abbas asked to free Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Ahmad Sa'adat and Yasser Arafat's former aide Fuad Al-Shubkhi, as well prisoners who are sick or elderly and female prisoners. (Roi Kais)
