Thousands take part in 'Land Day' protests

Thousands of demonstrators are taking part in two rallies marking 'Land Day', held in the village of Araba in the Galilee and in the town of Shaqib al-Salam in the Negev. The protestors are calling on the government of Israel to release the fourth batch of Palestinian prisoners.

Schools, businesses, public institutions, and medical centers in the Arab sector are conducting a general strike Sunday in solidarity with the protests.(Hassan Shaalan)
