Former MK Said Nafa convicted of contact with foreign agent in Syria
Nazareth District Court convicted former Balad Knesset Member Said Nafa of contact with a foreign agent. He met with secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command (PFLP-GC), Talal Naji, while visiting in Syria in 2007.
Nafa was also convicted of charges of illegal exit to an enemy country and aiding a delegation of 282 religious Druze figures to exit to Syria. He was acquitted of another charge of contacting a foreign agent after it was claimed he attempted to meet with the leader of the Hamas political bureau Khaled Mashal. (Ahiya Raved)
