Kerry: Syrian president election a 'farce'

LONDON - US Secretary of State John Kerry said Thursday the United States and other nations supporting the Syrian opposition agree that President Bashar Assad's planned presidential election is a "farce" because tens of thousands of Syrians have been displaced by fighting.
Kerry and his counterparts from 10 other nations have agreed at a meeting in London to ramp up every facet of what can be done to assist the Syrian opposition, but he stopped short of promising any US military aid. (AP)
