Jordan expels Syrian ambassador, declares him 'persona non-grata'

AMMAN - Jordan has expelled the Syrian ambassador from the country on Monday, giving him 24 hours to leave Amman, the state-run Petra news agency said.
The Jordanian government declared Ambassador Bahjat Suleiman persona non-grata on Monday and asked him to leave.
Jordan's Information Minister Mohammed al-Momani also confirmed the expulsion in a text message to The Associated Press but provided no details.
Reasons behind the move were not immediately known. (AP)
