German courts will investigate claims from whistleblower Edward Snowden that the US spied on Chancellor Angela Merkel by listening in on her telephone conversations.
"I will investigate the eavesdropping of Merkel's cellphone," said the federal prosecutor after a hearing before a committee of parliament. (AFP)
