Ten senior members to resign from Arab party Balad

Seven senior members of the Israeli Arab party Balad announced Thursday their intention to resign from the party. The decision took place after three other senior members decided to quit earlier this week: Dr. Eman Haj Yahia, Gasan Atamla, and Amani Ibrahim. The three were active party members for many years and are prominent figures in the Arab sector.

A source in Balad said there are fears the group plans to establish a new political organization.

The dispute within the party apparently began during the Nazareth mayor elections during which internal tensions within the party lead to massive political infighting. (Hassan Shaalan)
