US condemns rocket fire at Israel, sees Hamas responsible
The US condemned Hamas on Wednesday following rocket fire towards Israel earlier in the day, saying Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas "needs to do the best he can to prevent an escalation."
State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki admitted that "Abbas' ability to prevent attacks from the Gaza Strip is limited at this stage." (Yitzhak Benhorin)
