Ashkenazi and wife questioned over Harpaz affair
Former IDF chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi and his wife underwent questioning at the police investigation headquarters in Lod on Thursday, as part of an ongoing police probe into suspected fraud during the race to name Ashkenazi's successor.

Police are looking into Ashkenazi's involvement in producing a fake document that claimed former defense minister Ehud Barak was planning
a campaign to defame Ashkenazi as the two battled over who would become the next head of the IDF. The forged document is named for its creator and Ashkenazi associate Lt. Gen. Boaz Harpaz.

Cabinet Secretary Avichai Mandelblit was also questioned by police in Lod on Thursday. Mandelblit was the IDF's chief military advocate general from 2004 to 2011. (Eli Senyor)
