MK Ariel Atias resigns from Knesset

Shas faction chairman, MK Ariel Atias, announced his resignation from the Knesset on Thursday. Atias informed the party's Council of Torah Sages and Party Chairman Aryeh Deri of his decision, and submitted a letter of resignation to Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein.

"After years of intensive activity, nights as days…I felt compelled to take a break from my membership in the Knesset," Atias said in an explanation for his decision. (Kobi Nahshoni and Moran Azulay)
