Ban Ki-moon expresses 'concern' about mass arrests of Palestinians

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon expressed its "concern" about mass arrests of Palestinians in the West Bank, in a telephone conversation Saturday with Prime Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday the United Nations.

According to a UN statement, Ban conveyed to Mr Netanyahu's "concern about the renewed violence, mass arrests and restrictions on freedom of movement in the West Bank." Mr. Ban "said he expected all parties to show restraint and respect for human rights and international laws." (AFP)
