Assad bureau: Rumors about death of Assad's mother are unfounded

The office of the Syrian president has released a statement denying reports about the death of Anisa Makhlouf, mother of Syrian President Bashar Assad and wife of former Syrian president Hafez Assad.

On Sunday unconfirmed rumors and reports spread about Makhlouf's death, mainly on social media, but the Syrian president's office stressed that the reports were unfounded. (Roi Kais)
