Arab-Israeli sentenced to eight years prison for attempt to kidnap soldiers
The Lod Distrcit Court sentenced Yusef Varda, a resident of Qalansawe, to eight year imprisonment as part of a plea bargain in which he admitted to attempting to kidnap a soldier with the intent to murder him. He did so in a bid to secure the release of Palestinian prisoners.
His partner, Anas Jabarin, was sentenced to three months in prison a month ago, also as part of a plea bargain. (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
