EU ambassador to Israel visits Ashkelon in 'solidarity with the people in southern Israel'
Lars Faaborg-Andersen, the European Union Ambassador to Israel, visited Ashkelon city Monday in a show of support for the Israeli government and the people of the south while citing the increased rocket fire from Gaza in recent days.

"My presence here is a signal from the European Union of solidarity with the people here in southern Israel who are living under this unacceptable threat," he said. "This is a very difficult situation to live with and I'm very conscious of the fear and anxiety that people experience here every day."
