Security officials at an Israeli checkpoint arrested a Palestinian carrying a makeshift explosive device Thursday. According to suspicions he was on his way to conduct a terror attack in Israel.
Security forces at the Trans-Samaria Highway Checkpoint (Route 5) noticed a suspicious car approaching the checkpoint.
An initial search of his car revealed that between the bags in his car, the man was carrying a gas cylinder with electrical wires protruding from it.
Sappers were alerted to the scene and security forces closed down the checkpoint. Investigators claimed he was en route to carry out a terror attack in Israel; police picked up the investigation efforts.
