Abbas to Hamas, Israel: Don't present preliminary conditions for truce

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said that the contacts for a truce between Israel and Hamas, brokered by Egypt, have failed.
"We asked the American side to help cease Israeli military action, and in our part we will convince Hamas to stop the rocket attack. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful," said Abbas.
Abbas called both sides to avoid presenting preliminary conditions for a ceasefire, "because the most important thing is to prevent bloodshed".
