Tamir Idan, head of the Sedot Negev Regional Council said in response to the cabinet’s decision to accept an Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire that “a truce without a demilitarization of areas in the Gaza Strip or a different arrangement that will prevent rocket fire, is a mistake.”
According to him, “Israel should reach to an agreement that will guarantee Hamas’s inability to attack the south. We expect a long-term solution that will lead to many years of calm in the south.”
