Italy foreign minister: Ceasefire is both Israeli and Palestinian interest

Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini held a meeting Wednesday with President Shimon Peres and said that "Europe and the US will do whatever they can to support a ceasefire. I believe that a truce is both Israeli and Palestinian interest".

Mogherini added that she understands the stress and worry of the Israeli people, but at the same time she is concerned with the number of victims in Gaza. I arrived in the region in order to start the negotiating and taking the steps to end the conflict as soon as possible.
