Israeli seriously wounded in suspected shooting attack in Shomron

IDF preliminary investigation reveals terrorist fired from moving vehicle towards young man standing at Rechelim junction, not far from Ariel.

A 25-year-old man was injured on Tuesday night at the Rechelim junction in Shomron in an apparent drive-by shooting. Yarkon Area Magen David Adom teams treated him at the scene and then evacuated him to the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva.

A preliminary investigation by the IDF revealed that a terrorist had fired from a passing vehicle at the victim who was standing at the junction between Ariel and Tapuah Junction. The terrorist fled the scene and security forces launched a search after him.

Earlier Tuesday, a Palestinian was killed during clashes in the Palestinian town of Al-Ram, northeast of Jerusalem. Palestinians claim that he was shot by security forces. His body was transferred to Ramallah.

Meanwhile, riots occurred in Jerusalem in several locations as masked Arab youths threw stones and Molotov cocktails.

Riots also took place in At-Tur. Silwan, Abu Tor and in the Antonia neighborhood in Jerusalem's Old City. Police forces and Israel border police initiated riot control measures to disperse the crowd.
