Port Authority: Delta and US Airlines cancellations not a government decision
After America's Delta and US Airlines announced Tuesday the cancellation of flights into Israel due to rocket fire from Gaza, a Spokesperson for the Port Authority stressed that the incident had nothing to do with government. "This isn't a decision of the US government to cancel flights that were planned to land in Israel this evening."
"The Department of Transportation is acting to explain to companies that Ben Gurion Airport is safe for take-offs and landings. The Transportation minister Katz has called on American companies to return to normal flight plans. There is no reason for American companies specifically to stop their flights and give a prize to terrorism," said the spokesperson.
