Bloomberg: US should allow flights to Israel
Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is urging the Federal Aviation Administration to "reverse course" and permit US airlines to fly to Israel.
Bloomberg says he is flying on El Al to Tel Aviv on Tuesday night to "show solidarity with the Israeli people and to demonstrate that it is safe to fly in and out of Israel."
In a statement, he says: "The US flight restrictions are a mistake that hands Hamas an underserved victory and should be lifted immediately."
