Image taken hundreds of miles from earth captures IDF strikes on Gaza, rockets launched from Strip fly over Israel.
German astronaut Alexander Gerst tweeted an image on Wednesday as seen from his vantage point at the International Space Station, while the floating observation post was flying over Israel and the Gaza Strip.
My saddest photo yet. From #ISS we can actually see explosions and rockets flying over #Gaza & #Israel pic.twitter.com/jNGWxHilSy

According to Gerst, the photo that was taken from more than 200 miles from earth documents Israel and Gaza during an evening of rocket attacks and aerial strikes. The dark section at the top of the image is the Mediterranean Sea.
