Op Protective Edge: 3,356 rockets fired from Gaza, 4,762 targets hit by IDF
The IDF spokesperson confirmed Tuesday that over the course of Operation Protective Edge, 3,356 rockets from Gaza were fired at Israel including 2,532 that fell in open areas and 116 which struck rural zones. Iron Dome missile defense batteries intercepted a total of 578 rockets.
The IDF also confirmed that the army and Air Force had hit 4,762 terrorist targets during the operation. IDF figures put the death toll in the Gaza Strip at 1,768 including 750-1,000 armed militants.
