According to suspicions, several Jewish youths attacked an Arab taxi driver on Saturday night in Jerusalem's Zion Square. The youths cursed at him and sprayed him with tear gas. Jerusalem District Police detained them for questioning. Police noted that it is suspected the circumstances behind the event are nationalistic.

Several hours later, police officers arrived at the Zion Square area after dozens of young Jews had gathered there, calling for 'death to Arabs'. One of them was arrested for assaulting a police volunteer who sustained light wounds. Three other suspects were detained for questioning.
