Gaza health ministry: 2,016 killed in Israeli operation, 541 of them children

More than 2,000 Palestinians were killed during Operation Protective Edge that began on July 8 in the Gaza Strip, the Department of Health in the Palestinian enclave said on Monday.

According to the ministry, among the 2,016 Palestinians killed, 541 were children and 250 women. The new record includes Gazans who have died from their injuries in hospitals in Gaza and abroad, the ministry said.
