US: Hamas broke ceasefire, Israel has right to defend itself
Deputy spokesperson for the US State Department Marie Harf said Tuesday that the US holds Hamas responsible for breaking the ceasefire by fire rockets on Israel.
Harf also addressed the impending UN investigation into the events of Operation Protective Edge in Gaza and said that the US was opposed to an external probe. Harf said that it will harm the chances of advancing the peace process if the Palestinians bring Israel to court in The Hague.
