Jordan: 8 arrested for trying to attack Israeli embassy, American troops

Eight men were charged in Jordan Monday for conspiring to attack American soldiers and the Israeli Embassy in Amman, said a judicial source.
"The Court of State Security accused the eight men of plotting to carry out terrorist acts, including attacks against American troops in 2006 and the Israeli embassy in Amman," a court official told AFP.
"The suspects, seven Jordanians and a Syrian also recruited candidates to join the (Lebanese Shiite movement) Hezbollah," he said.
