The United Nations has appointed two representatives to negotiate with the Al Qaeda-linked rebel group in Syria, Al-Nusra Front, al-Jazeera network reported.

The negotiations aim to bring about the release of the 45 Fijian troops held hostage in the Quneitra crossing area.
