A Palestinian suspected of trying to run over soldiers and civilians at the Eyal border crossing near Qalqilya in the West Bank on Tuesday afternoon was critically wounded after being shot by IDF troops at the scene.
The Palestinian arrived at the crossing from the east, likely from the Samaria District, with several other passengers in a vehicle with Israeli license plates. He reportedly tried to ram through the checkpoint and run over soldiers and civilians there. An Israeli was lightly wounded in the incident.

After being shot by the troops, the driver lost control of the car and swerved to the side of the road. He was taken to the Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba in critical condition and later transfered to the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva.
The other passengers were arrested and taken into questioning.
Police was dispatched to the scene. Detective stressed the investigation was still in its initial stages and the circumstances of the incident are still unclear.
