Three al-Shabab suspects arrested in Frankfurt
BERLIN - Three German men suspected of being members of the Somalian terrorist organization al-Shabab were arrested at Frankfurt airport as they attempted to re-enter the country, prosecutors said Monday.
They were arrested Saturday, after landing in Frankfurt from Kenya, on charges of membership in a foreign terrorist organization and of preparing an act of violence in connection with their time in Somalia, the Federal Prosecutor's Office said. At the moment, however, "there is no evidence the suspects had made any concrete preparations or plans for attacks" in Europe, the office said. It would not elaborate further.
