Israeli admitted into international travel federation

Yossi Fattal says UFTAA has avoided appointing an Israeli to its management for many years for political reasons.

Yossi Fattal, director of the Israel Tourist and Travel Agents Association, has been selected as a member of the Universal Federation of Travel Agents Associations (UFTAA) management.

This is the first time that an Israeli is admitted into the management of the union of travel agents association as a representative of the Middle East.

"I am very happy that Israel was chosen," says Fattal. "The organization has refrained from appointing an Israeli for many years for political reasons."

As part of his position as chairman of the committee for aviation affairs and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the organization, Fattal maintains close ties with representatives of countries that have no diplomatic relations with Israel.

In the past, he has already visited countries like Bahrain, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates with his Israeli passport. Next month, he is expected to speak at the organization's conference in Indonesia.
