First time since 1967, Kuwaiti FM to visit West Bank
Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah will arrive Sunday in Ramallah to meet with Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas. This is the first time since 1967 a senior Kuwaiti official pays such a visit to the West Bank.
Palestinian officials dubbed the visit as "important" and "historical."
Member of the executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Wasel Yousif told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the visit is important because it came after the Gaza war, adding that it is reflective of Kuwait's supportive stance towards the Palestinians.
