Security officials: Jet was shot down on its way back to Syria
Official security sources said Tuesday morning that the Syrian jet that was shot down by the IDF over the Golan was a Russian built Sukhoi 24. The sources said that the plane crossed into Israeli airspace by a few hundred meters and had turned around back toward Syria when it was hit by an IDF patriot missile over the area of Quneitra.
