A Kurdish security official says a triple suicide attack tore through a Kurdish compound in eastern Iraq, killing 22 security force members.
The attack took place in Qara Tappah, in the eastern Diyala province about 120 kilometers (75 miles) northeast of Baghdad. The official says a suicide bomber set off his explosive belt Sunday at the gate of a compound that houses offices for Kurdish security and a main a Kurdish party.
Minutes later, two suicide bombers drove explosive-laden cars into the compound, causing heavy damage. At least 60 people were injured in the attack.
Hospital officials confirmed the casualties.
