Prime suspects in Tel Aviv hit-and-run arrested in France for sales scam

Six people, including the two main suspects in the death of Lee Zeitouni in a hit-and-run in Tel Aviv in 2011, have been arrested in France for an alleged car sales scam, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

Eric Robic and Claude Khayat were driving a luxury SUV when they knocked over and killed the 25-year-old pilates teacher. They then immediately fled to France to avoid criminal prosecution, only to later acknowledge the crime and express regret for her death.

Due to extradition restrictions, the two could not be returned to Israel to stand trial.
