Abbas: Kerry asked us to postpone UN resolution on Israeli withdrawal
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Thursday US Secretary of State John Kerry has asked him to postpone the Palestinians' request to the UN Security Council to pass a resolution setting a deadline for Israeli withdrawal.
Abbas said the American delegation to the Gaza aid conference in Cairo asked him to postpone the resolution to the beginning of 2015, due to the November midterms in the US.
"We know we can't confront the US or any other country in the world and I don't want to clash with anyone, but I want my rights," Abbas told businessmen in Ramallah.
