Nine Jewish families move into Silwan in the dead of night
Nine Jewish families moved overnight Sunday to Silwan neighborhood in east Jerusalem, so currently there are 17 Jewish families in the neighborhood which is occupied mostly by a Palestinian population.
Sources involved in the matter said that the houses were purchased by the Yemeni Community Committee. Police said that there were no unusual incidents during the night.
Yesterday, President Reuven Rivlin criticized the Jewish settlement in the area: "This is our prerogative to insist on building across Jerusalem, but it is also our duty to make sure the decision is made by the authorities. Our capital cannot become a city where we sneak in to our homes in the dead of night," said Rivlin.
