5 years in prison for Israelis who join terrorist organizations
The Ministerial Committee on Legislation unanimously approved a bill that would allow criminal charges and five years in prison for Israeli citizens who join terrorist groups such as the Islamic State.
Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, who initiated the proposal, said, "Our message is clear – Israel will act with zero tolerance towards citizens who choose terrorism. Terrorism must be fought and those who choose terror must be arrested."
