Abbas requests emergency meeting of UN Security Council

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas requested Monday that the UN Security Council convene in an emergency meeting, saying that the Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the acts of settlers against the Al-Aqsa Mosque must be stopped. He also noted that Council members should discuss the Israeli decision to build housing units beyond the Green Line.
