40 nations look to help with Syrian refugee flood

BERLIN - Foreign ministers and other representatives from 40 nations are meeting in Berlin on Tuesday to coordinate international support more than 3 million Syrian refugees from the Syrian civil war.

The German Foreign Ministry said the one-day conference will concentrate on determining what infrastructure support is needed for the countries neighboring Syria that have taken in most of the refugees, and the needs of the refugees themselves.

Guests include the head of the United Nations refugee agency, Antonio Guterres, and Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam, whose country alone has at least 1.1 million Syrian refugees.
