Girls accused of trying to join jihadis confused

The father of one of three Colorado girls who authorities say tried to join Islamic State militants in Syria says he is still troubled by questions about the case. The man says his 16-year-old daughter of Sudanese descent seemed confused about what her role would be if she had actually made it there.

The FBI says the girl and her friends, 15- and 17-year-old sisters of Somali descent, were headed toward Syria when authorities stopped them on October 20 at the Frankfurt, Germany airport. They have been reunited with their families but have not returned to school.
