Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai to donate $50,000 to Gaza schools
Malala Yousafzai, recipient of the Nobel Peace prize, announced Wednesday she would donate 50,000 dollars to help rebuild UN schools that were damaged during Operation Protective Edge. In a speech in Stockholm, where she received the World's Children's Prize, Malala said the funds she recieved from the international organization would be transferred to help rebuild 65 schools in Gaza.
"Innocent Palestinian children have suffered terribly and for too long," Yousafzai said. "We must all work to ensure Palestinian boys and girls, and all children everywhere, receive a quality education in a safe environment. Because without education, there will never be peace," she said.
