Israel reopens Al-Aqsa Mosque ahead of Friday prayers
Israel reopened Jerusalem's flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound Friday ahead of the weekly Muslim prayers, after a rare closure following clashes sparked by the killing of a Palestinian by police.
The streets of East Jerusalem were calm ahead of the prayers at midday, following an Israeli clampdown on the shrine.
Clashes erupted when Israeli police Wednesday night shot dead a Palestinian accused of trying to kill a Jewish hard-liner.
