Report: Israel believes Gaza rocket was response to Temple Mount tensions

The defense establishment believes that the rocket fired from Gaza last week came in response to the long-running tensions over the Temple Mount, Army Radio reported Tuesday.  

The radio said Israel believes the rocket was fired by an extremist Sunni group such as Ansar Bait al-Maqdis (Supporters of the Holy House). 

Israel closed its two crossings into Gaza in the wake of the rocket strike, which, given the Egyptian decision to seal off the Rafah crossing, leaves the Strip totally cut off from the world.
