Hezbollah claims Israel behind mysterious murder of nuclear engineers

After five nuclear scientist were killed in Syria, speculations ran wild, but now Hezbollah blames Israel; Hezbollah also reportedly working to enlist Christians, Druze to fight against Israel.

Hezbollah claimed that the 'unknown assailants' that killed five nuclear engineers Sunday while they were on a bus just north of Damascus were Israeli operatives. Iran and its proxy in Lebanon, Hezbollah, have repeatedly blamed Israel for allegedly kidnapping and murdering top operatives, especially those with links to Iran's nuclear program.

Despite the fact that one of them scientists was an Iranian national, the Hezbollah official, who spoke with the Australian Sunday Morning Herald, blamed Israel.

"We can confirm that five scientific experts were martyred by terrorists as part of the ongoing plots of the Zionist entity," a Hezbollah internal security commander told the Herald.

According to the same unnamed official, "We have long determined that the Zionist entity works closely with a number of the so-called rebel groups for anti-Hezbollah and anti-Syrian regime operations... this follows the pattern of the enemy who backs and controls terrorists inside Syria in a program to hurt the resistance axis."

The Hezbollah commander also noted the December 2013 murder of Hezbollah's tech chief, Hassan Laqqis, who according to Hezbollah-controlled media was killed by Israeli mossad operatives outside a suburban Beirut safe house.

Days after the five's mysterious murder, Syrian sources told El Watan news agency, associated with the Assad regime, that the al-Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda branch in Syria, was responsible for their.

According to the sources, the engineers worked in the nuclear and electrical engineering industry. The sources said the cell shot at a bus carrying the nuclear engineers to work at a scientific research center in the Barza neighborhood of Damascus.

United against Israel

Hezbollah is reportedly working to enlist Christian, Druze and Sunni youths for a new force called the 'Resistance Brigades' which will battle Israel in the next conflict between the Lebanese Shiite terror group and Israel.

Under the slogan of "our fate is one and we must struggle together", the terror group is offering youths free arms and military training, a-Nahar reported.

According to the paper, the forces will currently monitoring alleged Israeli incursions in Lebanon and is preparing for a future conflict. Hezbollah has the majority of its military efforts invested in Syria, but this force is dedicated to Israel, and will not join the groups fighters in Syria. The force will also work to fight any internal attacks on Hezbollah by other radcial groups active in Lebanon.
