J'lem Mayor and police call for more volunteers for Civil Guard
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat along with Israel police decided on Tuesday to strengthen the framework of the Civil Guard and called on more volunteers to safeguard Jerusalem neighborhoods after the terror attack at a Synagogue in the Har Nof neighborhood and the deteriorating security situation in the capital.
"We decided to conduct an extensive campaign to recruit volunteers for Jerusalem's Civil Guard," said Barkat at the end of an assessment that took place with participation of Police Commissioner Lieutenant Yohanan Danino and Jerusalem District Commander Moshe Edri.
"I call on the citizens of Jerusalem to volunteer and strengthen the civilian aid to security forces," Barkat said.
