Livni lashes out against Netanyahu's Nationality bill on Facebook page
Justice Minister Tzipi Livni wrote a Facebook status lashing out at the Nationality Law being initiated by Prime Minister Netanyahu that calls to establish the Basic Law: Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people.
Livni wrote she would "defend the values of the charter of Israel as they were established during the declaration of independence and will not lend hand to harm them." Livni referred to the bill as dangerous and anti-Zionist.
Livni added that Israel is Jewish and democratic at an equal level and not "less Jewish than democratic or democratic at the cost of being Jewish." The justice minister added that she would "also oppose any similar initiative that makes a political deal at the cost of these values."
