Israel police pulls over Palestinian prime minister

Rami Hamdallah's convoy stopped in early morning for speeding, reckless driving.

Israel Police pulled over the convoy of Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah on Sunday morning. The officers claimed the prime minister's vehicles were speeding and driving recklessly on Route 60.

"There is no reason in the world that justifies such wild driving," said an eyewitness. "It's a miracle no one was hurt." Palestinians have denied the convoy was speeding recklessly.

Around 8 am on Sunday, Hamdallah's convoy was driving on Route 60 in Area C, between two towns within the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council. According to the police, the convoy recklessly crossed between the lanes and, according to an eyewitness, three of the vehicles dangerously overtook other cars on the road.

"How does an official, doesn't matter whether he's Palestinian or Jewish, allow himself to drive like that?" asked Uriel, who lives in a nearby town and passed by the convoy this morning.
