Obama: 'Significant' gaps remain in nuclear talks with Iran

US President Barack Obama reiterated in an interview recorded Friday and broadcast Sunday that significant differences remained with Tehran in the nuclear talks, and stressed the isolation of Iran the international stage.

"The question is," Obama said, "can we get to a more permanent deal" than the interim agreement signed six months ago to allow for more in-depth negotiations to take place. "And the gaps are still significant," he told ABC.

But "I have the whole international community on my side, and they are more or less alone," said Obama.

Asked about a possible normalization of relations with Iran to a nuclear agreement, he stressed that problems remained, citing "Iran's support for terrorist activities in the region" and attitude towards Israel.
